On the water and in the air the North Alabama Division 24 performs safety patrols on the Tennessee River and connected waterways. While on patrol they look for boaters in distress. Should they come upon one the Auxiliarist will lend assistance. That assistance can be a tow to the nearest safe port or plucking a person overboard out of the water.
During 2006 the Air Operations had 119 flights totaling 493.3 hours. Patrols covered 25,584 river miles.
